Where is the source?
The public source is https://github.com/Bit-Byte5/RedRock. Clone it, then ./redrock run on a Mac with adb and a Quest in Developer Mode.
Actual Minecraft. Unofficial host. Not Microsoft. Not Mojang. Not Meta.
Actual Minecraft · unofficial host · not Microsoft
RedRock runs actual Minecraft Bedrock — the real game from Google Play, not a clone or fake spin-off. RedRock itself is not Microsoft’s Minecraft app, not Mojang’s Quest product, and not the official Meta Store listing. Official Minecraft is minecraft.net. Get it from Microsoft at Get Minecraft. RedRock is a fan-made unofficial host for that same actual Minecraft you already own on Google Play. Microsoft did not make this, ship this, or approve this.
If you want Microsoft and Mojang’s product, go to minecraft.net. RedRock is a separate fan-made host for the same actual Minecraft. Do not treat it as their VR port, their sideload path, or their Quest workflow.

RedRock is an ongoing unofficial Android host / VR mod for actual Minecraft Bedrock on Meta Quest. Fan-made. Sideloaded. Not a clone. Not a Microsoft release. Download talks to Google Play as the account that owns Minecraft. Play starts that owned copy inside RedRock — it does not install Minecraft as a second Quest app, and it does not redistribute APKs.
Native mods are mcpelauncher-style arm64 files, not Java Fabric/Forge jars. Quest is arm64-v8a. An x86 build from a Mac will not load. Stereo OpenXR is later; the hosted game currently fills the same 2D window.
After Developer Mode, clone the public source at GitHub and run ./redrock run. Find it under Apps → Unknown Sources → RedRock. How the window, download, host, controls, and mods work is on the docs. Also see the unofficial notice.
Direct answers for “Minecraft on my Oculus” and “Minecraft on Meta Quest.” Official Minecraft is the Store app from Microsoft and Mojang. RedRock is a fan-made unofficial host for that same actual Minecraft — never their Quest app, never a clone.

No. Never. The game you play is actual Minecraft Bedrock. RedRock is only a fan-made unofficial host for that game. Microsoft, Mojang, Xbox, and Meta did not make RedRock, ship it, or approve it. If you want Microsoft’s official Quest app, that is https://www.minecraft.net/ and the Meta Store — not RedRock.
No. RedRock runs the real Minecraft Bedrock game from Google Play — the copy the signed-in Google account already owns. It is not a knockoff, not a Minecraft-like game, and not a separate title. RedRock is an unofficial host for actual Minecraft on Quest.
Yes. Official Minecraft is on the Meta Quest Store. RedRock is a separate unofficial host that runs actual Minecraft Bedrock you already own on Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S. Same game. Not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft, or Meta.
The game inside is official Minecraft Bedrock. RedRock the app is not: it is not Mojang’s Quest product, not a Microsoft product, and not a Meta Store listing. It is an unofficial personal host with no endorsement from Mojang Studios, Microsoft, Xbox, Google, or Meta.
The Store app is Microsoft and Mojang’s official Minecraft for Quest. That is their product. RedRock is a third-party host for the same actual Minecraft Bedrock: it talks to Google Play as the account that owns Minecraft, keeps that game inside RedRock’s own window, and loads native arm64 mods. Stereo VR is later; play today is that same 2D window.
No. RedRock only downloads Minecraft the signed-in Google account already owns, for personal use on that user’s devices. It does not sell, host, or redistribute APKs. If Play refuses the download, you do not own it, or Play blocked it.
RedRock is a sideloaded Horizon OS app for arm64 Meta Quest headsets (Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S — still searched as Oculus). It is not in the Store, because it is not an official app. Enable Developer Mode using Meta’s docs at https://developers.meta.com/horizon/documentation/android-apps/enable-developer-mode/ then open Apps → Unknown Sources → RedRock.
RedRock is an ongoing unofficial Android host / VR mod for actual Minecraft Bedrock on Meta Quest — fan-made, not a Microsoft VR port, not a clone. Native mods are mcpelauncher-style arm64 .so files, not Java Fabric/Forge jars. RedRock Core always loads. Stereo OpenXR is later; the hosted game currently fills the 2D Quest window.
Official Minecraft lives on Microsoft’s site and Google Play. RedRock source is public on GitHub. This site does not host APKs.
